Life at UWA
The School of Mechanical Engineering has well-equipped computer labs, with one computer for every three students. There is a workshop for students to work on projects, with supervised use of lathes and milling machines. There are extensive laboratories furnished with advanced mechanical engineering, analytical and test equipment to serve both teaching and research activities.
The picturesque UWA campus is set on the banks of the Swan river, about 10 minutes' drive from Perth and a short walk from Kings Park. Most of the campus is landscaped, with many sandstone buildings surrounded by native and exotic plants. Australia is a multicultural country, and the people of Australia have roots in every part of the world. Racial harassment is neither socially nor legally acceptable in Australia and is rarely seen. On campus students mingle with little regard to religion, nationality or race. However, students are able to maintain cultural lifestyles with specialty food stores, places of worship and social networks all present in Perth. |
