Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours in Oil and Gas Engineering (2002)

The best thing about studying engineering at UWA is the exposure to so many different aspects of engineering. It was difficult to choose courses, as I found many of them appeared interesting.

My career path has deviated only slightly, I've swapped open cut mines for offshore platforms, as many aspects of the mining and oil & gas industries are similar. I graduated with an Oil & Gas Engineering degree from UWA in 2002 and have been working at Woodside Energy in Perth.

As a Petroleum Engineer I am involved in subsurface work, assessing exploration wells, determining reserves, designing methods for recovering hydrocarbons and managing producing fields.

I've had various training opportunities, including international courses and hands on experiences. In fact, I have not looked back since I left uni, and the future looks pretty good.
